Meridian’s highly skilled team of experienced professionals brings together a full range of competencies and requisite knowledge to deliver on every aspect of a project. From conceptualization and detailed design to project and construction management and material testing, our mission is to provide reliable and environmentally sound solutions that deliver long-term value to our clients.

Our Team

The Past

Meridian Engineering Inc. originated from Davis Engineering & Associates Limited, a civil consulting engineering company founded by H.Laban Davis in Port Blandford in 1986. Davis Engineering operated in Port Blandford until March 2000, at which point it relocated to the present office location in Clarenville. In 2004, Davis Engineering was sold to Rutter Inc., and it operated until 2011 under the Rutter brand. In June 2011, five (5) engineers within the company purchased the Clarenville consulting engineering operation from Rutter Inc., thus forming Meridian Engineering Inc.

The Present

Today Meridian is one of the largest locally owned Civil Engineering consulting firms in Newfoundland. Situated at our original location in Clarenville, we currently have 10 full-time staff including, 5 Professional Engineers, 3 Technicians, and 2 Administrative Professionals. During the construction season, we generally hire seasonal inspectors to oversee projects under construction. During that time, it is not uncommon for our team to be in excess of 25. We continue to pride ourselves on the quality of our people. We believe that Meridian is not only a place where we deliver excellent engineering services but a place we are proud to call our second home and family. We stay strong to our strengths, believe in our abilities, challenge the norms, and strive to make every client experience a rewarding one.

As we think about the future of Meridian we cannot help but think of our people, their families, and our clients. We have the responsibility and determination to ensure that Meridian is an integral part of our community for many years to come. We will grow when growth is possible and maintain when needed. We will set reasonable goals, work hard to achieve these goals, and celebrate together as a unified team. We will not fear challenges, rather, we will embrace them and solve them. We intend to progress, continue to learn and continue to provide engineering services at the absolute best of our abilities.
